RE: My new Host Everest (Finally Interior Photos!)

Very nice setup! You did a fantastic job putting everything in you wanted.
I am glad that they have that fire fairly contained. I am a volunteer fireman up North here and would be there except the last rounds of fires down there, coming home the motor blew up on our engine so we won't see that for about another week. All of our surrounding departments are down there and working there butts off.

RE: Small Solar Panel

Thanks for the replies. I am heading to Mexico for a week and really will only be running a few lights at night, so I am just wondering if a small panel would keep the batteries topped off or close to it. Hopefully the new 6 volts will last much longer by nature and I might just need the generator once or twice during the trip.

Small Solar Panel

I just upgraded my batteries to (2)6 volts and I am leaving on a weeks vacation of boondocking. I was wondering if any of you have purchased any of the small portable solar panels and if so do they recharge any or just better off running the generator when necassary. Looking forward to the extra battery capacity of the 6 volts.

RE: Sam's Club 6V Batteries

That is great to hear. I have two yellow top Optima's and they just don't seem to do the job, so hopefully switching to 6V will improve that.

Sam's Club 6V Batteries

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Sams Club 6V batteries. I was going to pick 2 of them up but just looking for feedback. Also what are the amp hours on the battery.

RE: 2004 Honda TRX250EX

My vote would be for the Honda 300EX as it is a smaller version of the 400EX with reverse. In my opinion the easiset to work on as well.

RE: Small 12v Compressor

If you want a true 12V 150psi 100 duty cycle go with the Extreme Aire from Extreme Outback Products. They have hard mount and portables. Not cheap but a well made product.

RE: Purchased a Weber Q Portable Gas Grill --Where to put??

Per Luv2skyski I strap mine to the table and it seems to do very well there. I also like the idea of putting it on the stove as you can use the dinette. I will have to try that. You will LOVE the grill.

RE: airbag's and Timbrens ?

I run the Timbrens and the air bags together on my F350 and really like it. I was able to lower the air pressure almost in half from what I was running with just the bags. The ride was improved as well. For the cost you can't go wrong to try them and easy installation.

RE: Problem with Onan camp power 2500.

Serpa4, I as well cannot find a vent tube and I have searched all over this thing. Maybe some years don't have them? The mystery continues.

RE: AF 990 slide out

Not sure of the movement but my AF has locks at the top corners to prevent it from coming out. Does your AF 990 have these?

RE: Narrowing down the new camper (DONE!)

Mooney, With kids have you thought about the host with a Tent option in the rear? I spent quite a bit of time in one and for a family with kids I thought it was ideal as they have their space and it actually has a sliding door and you and the wife still have yours. And another thing I liked about it was that the dinette could stay up. Good luck on your search.

RE: Staying a night in a loaded toyhauler

Thanks for all of the replies. I so see it easier with a front sleeper but I have the 21' in mind for a couple of reasons. I am sure I can lower the bed down over the quad it would just be the couches for the kids. Oh and I have to make sure there is room for my wife to make it to the restroom at night without crashing over a motorcycle. Still like my enclosed trailer just think a toyhauler would be easier for these certain trips.

RE: Why is an Arctic Fox so cheap?

I also bought my Artic Fox for the price. I had a Lance and needed more room so I was looking at the 1191 at around $40,000. The dealer said he had a used Arctic Fox 1150 only a year old and the owners traded it in for a trailer. I looked and thought this is a real nice camper, loaded generator etc. I went to talk with them and he started at $15,500 and when I stated I wasn't trading in my used camper he took another grand off. I couldn't pass up a nice large camper with everything in it for $14,500 and it is working well for us.

Staying a night in a loaded toyhauler

I was thinking of buying a 21' toyhauler and will be carrying a bike and one quad. I was wondering if it is a pain to stop for the night and sleep in the trailer while loaded? I now run a Artic Fox camper and a 16' enclosed but for various trips and my sons racing I want to sell the enclosed and purchase the toyhauler and will leave the camper at home. Thanks for the replies.

RE: One Night Stop in Newport Beach Area

Oh and IMHO don't go to Mexico, not safe, don't even get me started on that topic! Wish you would change your mind though.
Campermama: We have been going to Mexico for years. We have friends that have a house 40 miles South of San Felipe on the Sea of Cortez. We always travel in pairs and do not travel at night. Most of the problems lately have been on the Tijauna side.
